Learning, Connections & Apprenticeships Done Right

 October’s GROW Networking event at Hurlston Hall was another fantastic afternoon of learning, conversation, and genuine business connections. 

With a great mix of members, regulars, and new faces in the room, the atmosphere was relaxed but purposeful — exactly how GROW events should feel. As always, introductions were short and snappy, giving everyone the chance to share what they do and how they help their clients. 

Apprenticeships: More Than You Might Think 

A huge thank you goes to Tom Bates, who delivered a really informative and eye-opening talk on apprenticeships and how they can work for businesses of all sizes. 

Tom broke down some common misconceptions and showed how apprenticeships aren’t just for large organisations or entry-level roles. His talk gave plenty of attendees food for thought, with lots of follow-up conversations happening around the room afterwards — always a good sign. 

Business Being Done (and Pizza Being Enjoyed) 

As always, there was plenty of networking, plenty of laughs, and plenty of business being done. Add in pizza and chips, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for productive networking without the pressure. 

October was a great reminder of what GROW does best — bringing people together, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities in a friendly, supportive environment.
