GROWing for a Stroll – Rain, Mud, and Amazing Connections

On Friday 20th February, we swapped the conference room for the countryside — and Mother Nature decided to test us! It was absolutely pouring down as we met at The Wayfarer in Parbold for our latest GROWing for a Stroll event.

But the rain didn’t dampen spirits one bit. Wrapped up in waterproofs, wellies, and a shared sense of humour, our group of determined business owners set off on an easy–medium 10km circular route.

Networking… With a Splash

Walking together in the rain created a unique kind of camaraderie. Conversations flowed naturally as we braved muddy paths, puddles, and the occasional gust of wind. From sharing business wins to swapping ideas and referrals, every step was an opportunity to connect in a relaxed, memorable way.

Dogs were welcome too — and they certainly made the weather feel more like an adventure than a challenge.

A Well-Deserved Finish

After a few hours and plenty of soggy socks, we returned to The Wayfarer for a well-earned drink and nibbles, still laughing, still networking, and still making valuable connections.

Sometimes the best networking doesn’t happen in a room — it happens in the rain, side-by-side, with a sense of humour intact.
